I know, right? Why are so many people hostile to the very idea of a society that provides for everyone, cares for everyone, a society in which all people are respected and safe and free? The mind boggles! It's not even that they disagree with the methods, it's that they don't want a society like that! They want strife and suffering and brutality! It's just beyond reckoning for those of us who have sense enough to strive for something better in this world.
