Imagining a better future is one of the most important roles art plays in society. We can't move in a direction without having some idea of what benefits exist out beyond what is and what has been.

It's kind of ridiculous, but also very human, how so many people think society is done changing. Recent human history is an explosion of rapid change, and yet they think we're just stuck with how things are now. They won't even imagine something better. Such a shame.
